POWELS works to strengthen the policy and regulatory environment for humane, sustainable, and welfare-aligned poultry farming systems. We collaborate with government agencies, legislators, and industry bodies to develop and/or implement policies, legal frameworks, standards, and guidelines for animal (including poultry) health, welfare, and sustainable livestock systems, aligning these with national, regional, and global best practices.
Train Farmers and Stakeholders
POWELS builds the capacity of poultry farmers, veterinarians, animal health professionals, extension agents, and other value-chain actors through hands-on training, on-farm demonstrations, peer learning, and continuous technical support. These programs foster practical skills and behavioral change, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to adopt, transition, and maintain humane, climate-smart and sustainability-aligned farming systems that enhance animal well-being, improve flock health, reduce mortality, and boost productivity sustainably.
